Online training course - Hand-Arm Vibration Training Course

The aim of this course is to describe the health effects of hand-arm vibration, and to explain the requirements of the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005. It is for all persons who operate hand-held power tools such as road breakers, hand-guided equipment such as powered lawnmowers, or who hold materials being processed by machines such as pedestal grinders.

    Describes hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).
  • Symptoms
    Looks at the symptoms of HAVS, CTS and Raynaud's phenomenon.
  • Measuring Vibration
    Explains how vibration magnitude and daily vibration exposure is measured.
  • Legal Duties
    Covers the requirements of the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 and explains the EAV and the ELV.
  • Workers at Risk
    Explains who is at significant risk of ill-health.
  • What You Can Do
    How individuals can reduce the risk.
  • Risk Assessment
    Deals with the requirement on employers to conduct a risk assessment.
  • Control Measures
    Looks at possible methods of risk control.
  • Health Surveillance
    Explains the requirement for health surveillance.
  • Information & Training
    Covers the duty on employers to provide suitable and sufficient information, instruction and training.
  • Self Test - 30 questions covering each of the previous modules. A certificate is offered if the test is passed.

This health and safety training course takes approximately 70 minutes to complete. You are purchasing one copy of this course, with one attempt at the test at the end.

Self Assessment

The course contains an interactive self assessment with mutiple choice questions to test your understanding of the contents of the course. On successful completion of the test, you will receive a downloadable certificate of competency which you may print.

When you purchase a course - you are buying one copy of the course which contains tutorial material and a test. The test has a passmark of 75%, and you get one go at the test. If you fail it, you must buy another copy and have another go.
